Dr Bill Kalis - Principal dentist

Dr Kalis attained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in 1994 and following a course of postgraduate study, a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Dentistry from the University of Adelaide in 2007. He is committed to ongoing training and professional development, attending numerous courses and educational programs every year, both locally and abroad. For over a decade, he maintained an active teaching and organising role through his various activities within the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry culminating in appointment to both State and Federal Presidency roles and is currently engaged by Osseo Dental as a speaker and trainer in the use of Mini Dental Implants for denture stabilisation.

At the core of his values as Principal Dentist of Padstow Dental Centre, Dr Kalis has a deep passion and dedication that is focused on delivering the best possible treatment and highest quality outcome for each patient. He thoroughly enjoys taking the time to listen to and understand every individual’s needs to provide customised solutions and relationship based care. He believes that delivering positive outcomes and experiences for our patients requires the backing of a well-trained team and continually invests in the ongoing development of the handpicked Padstow Dental support staff.

Dr Kalis is a member of the ADA and many other professional organisations to ensure he is always up to date with current dental procedures and protocols. He has been serving the Padstow area since 1998 after taking over the practice which was originally set up in the late 60’s.

Dr Kalis’ special interests lie in Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry but also provides the full spectrum of General Dentistry. He is genuinely devoted to the care and satisfaction of his patients' needs and draws no greater sense of joy or accomplishment than seeing the transformation that takes place within each person as their smile is restored. He believes a brilliant smile is an important asset and everybody deserves to look and feel their absolute best. In his down time, he loves nothing more than spending time with his family, keeping fit and getting out on the water for some relaxation or fishing.

Christine Joseph (Oral Health Therapist)

Christine is one of our highly skilled and widely experienced dental practitioners and a true asset to our team. Her wholistic and engaging approach to treatment as well as her nurturing nature allows for the finest patient experience. You’ll find that her thorough outlook on patient care and effective communication style allows you to feel comfortable and confident that the best of care is being taken with your treatment journey. Christine works in close collaboration with Dr. Kalis in order to plan and deliver optimal comprehensive care to patients of all ages.

Christine initially attained her Bachelor of Oral Health in 2013, then completed further studies into Adult Dental Therapy in 2018 at the University of Sydney. She has completed training at Sydney Dental Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Nepean Hospital, Bankstown Dental Clinic and also participated in rural services at Cowra in clinical practice and oral health education for children. She has also previously worked in specialist orthodontic and prosthodontic practices. This extensive work experience allows Christine to be a versatile asset and valued addition to our team, showcasing her skill set as she treats a diverse group of patients.

She has a wealth of experience and is qualified to perform a wide range of dental treatments, including preventive, restorative, orthodontic, cosmetic and gum treatment. Christine is also actively engaged in leadership roles and enjoys training her colleagues in various fields of dentistry in order to bring out the best of her peers. She is an avid believer in maintaining a positive work culture for the best experience of our patients on a daily basis.

Her friendly face and comforting persona allow our patients to feel at ease during their visits. She is particularly gentle, motivated and attentive to everyone’s needs. Christine’s set of values and principles deeply mirror those of Dr Kalis and Padstow Dental Centre which our patients have come to trust and respect.

On her days of leisure, Christine enjoys cooking, spending quality time with family and friends and trying new cuisines from all over the world!

Dalvin Tran (Oral Health Therapist)

Dalvin Tran our passionate Oral Health Therapist is eager to bring his wealth of experience and commitment to your dental well-being as part of the Padstow Dental team. A proud graduate of the University of Sydney with extended adult scope, Dalvin plays a key role in elevating the standard of care and prevention at our dental practice.

Dalvin's professional journey has taken him across the diverse landscape of Sydney, from the outskirts in Tahmoor to the bustling hubs of Nepean, Westmead, and the esteemed Sydney Dental Hospital. His comprehensive placements have endowed him with a profound understanding of oral health, allowing him to address a wide spectrum of dental needs.

As your Oral Health Therapist, Dalvin works closely with Dr. Kalis and alongside Christine to ensure a positive and comfortable experience for every patient in keeping with our meticulous standards. His gentle demeanour and compassionate approach set the stage for a stress-free dental journey. Dalvin prioritises building trust and ensuring that patients are well-informed about their treatment plans, fostering a collaborative and patient-centric environment.

Jorge De Nava (Oral Health Therapist)

Jorge, our cheerful and skilled Oral Health Therapist, contributes to our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare. With a focus on preventive care and catering to the specific needs of our younger patients, Jorge collaborates closely with Dr. Kalis to ensure our patients receive comprehensive treatment.

Graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Oral Health Degree, Jorge holds dual qualifications as an Oral Health Therapist and Hygienist, affording him a broad scope to address various health needs of our patients.

Although now working with us on a part time basis, Jorge remains committed to continuous professional and personal development, delivering a comprehensive range of treatments from routine preventive care to addressing complex gum diseases and paediatric dentistry, ensuring the ongoing dental health of our patients through our continuing care program.
